متن کاملThe Effect of Transplantation of Collagen Hydrogel with Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Burn Wound Healing in Rats
Background: Cell therapy is one of the most challenging methods in the healing of burn wounds in the world. The present study aimed to determine the effect of collagen hydrogel with adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells on burn wound healing in an animal model. Materials and Methods: The present study was experimentally performed on 24 Wistar rats. Burn wounds were created on the skin of rats...
متن کاملThe use of stem cells in aesthetic dermatology and plastic surgery procedures. A compact review of experimental and clinical applications
The aim of this paper was to collect currently available data related to the use of stem cells in aesthetic dermatology and plastic surgery based on a systemic review of experimental and clinical applications. We found that the use of stem cells is very promising but the current state of art is still not effective. This situation is connected with not fully known mechanisms of cell interactions...
متن کاملCurrent and Future Perspectives of Stem Cell Therapy in Dermatology
Stem cells are undifferentiated cells capable of generating, sustaining, and replacing terminally differentiated cells and tissues. They can be isolated from embryonic as well as almost all adult tissues including skin, but are also generated through genetic reprogramming of differentiated cells. Preclinical and clinical research has recently tremendously improved stem cell therapy, being a pro...
متن کاملToward the isolation and culture of melanocyte stem cells.
A new level of understanding of pigment cell biology and pathology will require the ability to culture and manipulate melanocyte stem cells (MCSCs) in vitro. In this issue, Nishikawa-Torikai et al. report progress toward this end. MCSCs isolated from mouse hair follicles can be expanded in vitro in a feeder-layer culture system. Application to human systems can be expected.
